REMINDER OOOHHH

I have come again to remind y'all of the Fashion Lounge event tomorrow at Chrome, Adetokunbo Ademola street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Hehehe. These people suppose dey pay me for all this advert I dey do for them oh.

What have y'all been up to? It is a Wednesday and you know what Wednesdays are for, right? MOVIES baby!!! Call up your gist buddies, drive down to any cinema near you and see a good movie. The 8pm movies are the best. You go home when the traffic is all over.

I am being very random today, my hand dey itch me but I do not have gist for you.

However, you should know I have already planned what I will wear for the two events! Sexy with class is the theme here, boo!

For those of you that want to swing the color blocking road, make sure you have the confidence and swagger to carry it off splendidly.
I have not experimented with that yet. Maybe next week, I will. I have an engagement party to
attend. A girl about to join Somi in the league of chics happily married to money-miss-roads.
Hehehe
Oh, and do not forget the SGC by V14 event coming up oh! Follow them on twitter with
@sgcbyv14. They are also on facebook... SGC Celebrations. Their blog site is www.sgcbyv14.wordpress.com

Alright folks, enough famzing and yarning. I'm out! But I will leave you with this inspirational quote:

Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't.

Peace, luv, and Hershey kisses

Are You Ready?

Hola amigos! Buenos días!!!

Hahahaha!!! For my mind now, I sabi speak spanish oh!! Abeg, make I hail una with my mama tongue before my mouth twist!...

"Ndewo nu o. Unu abolachi?"

E-hen. That sounded loads better, I think (well, it will be sweet music to my grandma who is always on my case to speak the language). That is a problem we are having in naija though. I salute the yoruba and hausa people. They are proud of their language no matter how polished they are, but my fellow "nna men", different gist. We want to speak with british-chinese accents because we have gone to school. Okay, so not all of us but a good number sha. It pains me when I have to endure speech from these my people...

"Oh yels (insert british-chinese accent here) (infact, it is "yeks" to some and "yeiz" to quite a few).

Abeg, that one alone don do. You must have gotten the gist. It can be hilarious though. My ex- always had so much fun on days I decided to be a mimic. I am quite good at that.
Hold on, I can hear my people from other tribes laughing. Make una park well, so I no go enter una oh! Hehehe

You must have guessed I am excited today. I don't know why oh! Maybe because this cappucino has something other than mere caffeine in it. I have to ask these people oh... Hmmnnn. Or maybe it is because of the upcoming events I will be attending.
The Fashion lounge is launching their fashion event this thursday at Chrome and Exquisite designer Mai Atafo will be officially launching his "Weddings by Mai" on sunday at The Incubator.

For those of you interested in attending, you will be updated on how to get the IV to "weddings by Mai" via twitter, so follow me now @officialMiz. The IV costs #10,000.00 only.
And for the fashion lounge VIP event, send your name and email address to info@fashionloungeng.com to get on the guestlist. This event will be covered by MTV Base and is a gathering of the fashion VIPs.

Nobody should say I don't carry them along oh! That was how somebody attacked me for attending The Nehemiah Project and not broadcasting it. I announced it on twitter!! No be everytime I go dey type long story. With twitter, 140 letters and I am done. The event was the ish though!! Cobhams absolutely wowed me, I swear!! Jeez...!!!

Okay darlings, I have to dash out now. Work calls. Once again, let us gist on twitter!!!
Hugs and hershey kisses

Not So Random

I am probably going to bore you with my post today, but I am feeling rather melancholy. It is all thanks to this girlfriend of mine. Her mood has greatly affected me and reminded me of the heartbreak I myself once suffered.

Mine was crazy. Some of you would laugh as people always have and always will. I had lots of people tell me "babes, you weren't in a relationship. Relax"
Those people always have and always will piss me off. For real.
You are confused. Thing is, I dated my boyfriend for a year before I met him. And then we dated for even longer after that. It was bliss. We were not together, but I felt closer to him than people who are together even feel. He was my bestfriend. My confidante. He was in Florida. I have always been here.

One day however, just one phone call changed everything. My world came tumbling down around me. He wanted out. He could not cope with the distance anymore. Just a day's decision. And I still do not accept it to this day. Something else was amiss, he just chose not to tell me. I know it was not another woman. Call me foolish. Call me stupid. Call me naïve. I trusted my man. Go ahead, laugh. Should I paint my face white and put red bold blusher on my cheeks with a cherry on my nose? Complete the clown look to ensure your continued laughter?

You see... The thing is I had built my life around him. I had not considered any other life away from him. Infact, my life was on hold so I could fit into his. And all of a sudden, I was rejected. That was a vicious kick to the gut. I went on smiling and being a commando, letting the world know I was fine, but inside I was a mess. How could I go on without him? I knew I could, but I knew I would never be the same.
I begged... Oh I begged!!! But three times more, he rejected me. I could not reconcile the cruel man he was being to the wonderful man I loved for years.

All these memories have flooded me again from that dark corner where I kept them sealed up. I cried for only one day then and continued my life with a deep pain that never truly left. I think I was wrong to do that. I did not follow the normal grieving process. I did not let my hurt out. And now, I wallow in it as if it were yesterday.

I wonder who he is loving now. I wonder if some other lady has those kids we talked about having. I wonder if she cooks his favorite meal as spicy as he likes it. I wonder if she is silly with him? Does she make him smile? Do they crack sport jokes like we used to? Does he still wear my bracelet round his wrist? Does he know I still miss him?

LIFE

It was another rainy sunday in Lagos yesterday. It seems to have become a routine. Well, to be fair, it doesn't seem to be as bad as the last rain that paralyzed lagosians for a day plus more for some. It was just a light shower with occasional bursts of thunder. It's all good though because my TV and I fell in love yesterday. I have a whole bunch of series that I always buy but never get down to watching.

Anyway, who wants to guess what I did yesterday? *BIG SMILE!!!*

I went shoppppiiinnnggg!!!! I was about to say that I would give the first person with a correct guess #10,000.00 but then I remembered I tweeted about it on saturday morning. We know ourselves for naija, we like awoof and ojoro no be small!! So, I will keep my mouth shut and pocket my cash *tongueOut*.

I didn't go crazy in the stores but I did buy a truly elegant LV bag, a burberry travel bag, and a Hermes belt. Then I drove to Chocolate Royale with Somi and Seke for ice-cream and cake... Sinful delightsss!!!

I don't have much to say today really. My mind is occupied with my girl who got dumped yesterday. It was a battle getting her to compose herself. She truly loved the dude. Anyway shit happens as we all know. I just wish it had not happened to her. I know this does not bother you tough so...

Till I have something worth your attention,
Hugs and Hershey kisses...

Errr... LagosRain!!

White sand, blue waters, naughty cocktails, sea shells... Hmmmnnn

Sexy mini, fine wine, poetic and starry nights... Aaahh

Badass shorts, insane heels, wild gambling, high-end flirting... Wow!!!

I'm not going bananas (hahaha). Those are my fantasies right now before I pick which becomes reality for me. I'm talking of a vacation, darling!!!
Seychelles, Paris, or Vegas... I'm being pulled in every direction. Long throat is a wonderful thing! If I could, I would visit all of the above. Has the time for my reward not arrived? I should be having 6-month vacations twice a year, don't you agree? I didn't sign up to be a teacher so I can have my reward in heaven. I will appreciate them right now, thank you very much. God still has gifts waiting for me. I am not greedy to want a double dose. I am a very simple chic.

By the way, abeg abeg abeg, my fellow lagosians... WTH happened on sunday? That rain was badass!!! Started as a joke oh. Infact, I had made plans to drive Ivy to the airport so she could go see her fam in abuja before returning to New York at the end of the month. I had no idea how bad the rain was because I was holed up in my study working on a promo for one of my clients. My blackberry was not with me, or I would have seen some of the many broadcasts sent to my phone about the seriousness of the rain. Ol' boy, heaven vex oh!!!

Anyway, I did not come out of the study till Ivy pounded on the door so we could get going. I hurriedly threw some clothes on, grabbed my car keys and went downstairs. As I drove out, na river naija dey wait me for road. See flood eh!!! Feeling like a bonafide lagos driver, I manouevered my way through the water and drove out of the estate and towards Kingsway road. I was at Golden Gate when Somi called me.

"Madam how far? Una still dey house?" She asked
"No mami. We are on the road now. Kingsway." I replied
"Abeg make una no vex, turn back go house. Dem talk say high tension pole fall for 3rd mainland bridge, and Fashola don talk say make everybody dey indoors. Dis rain no be beans. Ivy can re-schedule her flight. Infact send me the details so I can do it right now. No airline in their right mind would even fly in this weather." Somi rapped with lots of drama

Sharp sharp, I took the next turn back towards falomo and safety. I explained the reason behind my move to Ivy, and Ivy who can shake at the slightest sound, didn't even raise a murmur in opposition. Hehe. Back to warmth for me. On getting home, I checked my BB and saw the crazy messages on BBM and twitter. Ali Baba cracked me up the most.

It was funny to indulge in jokes about the rain and floods. After-all that is what we do best as Nigerians, abi? We laugh when the sky is falling on our heads and invent crazy jokes to flow with it. However, the people that died as a result of the flood, are not an issue for laughter. My sympathy goes out to their family and friends. May the souls of the departed find rest in the after- life.

I refuse to end today on a sad note. So, I'm going to do my signature chicken dance while I plan my vacation. I wonder if I can talk Somi and Vixen into going with me. Talk to y'all later, people!!!
Hugs and hershey kisses!!!!

It's a GiDi Friday! whoohoo!!!

"On fridayyy... Time to partay!!! Let me see you swing and sway!!..." Remember the lyrics?

The weekend has officially begun!!! Yeah baybay!!! Where are you at? Swe, Movida, E-bar, Likwid, Aura, Soul Lounge,... Where??!!! It is time to dust off the stress of the week. If you are at home right now, you are on a veeerrrryyyy LONG thing!! #Gbam!!
Even those who don't go through the stress of daily office wahala are letting their hair down tonight. I was at The Bungalow earlier this evening when this chic walked in with another girl and she was rapping about how she can't wait to let the stress of the week away on the dancefloor. Her bemused friend had to say...

"But babes, na lie down you do all week now. Is watching MISTRESSES now work?"

Hahaha. So you see, babe did nothing but watch MISTRESSES all week and she feels the need to hit the dance floor. It is a LaS GiDi thing. You cannot live here and not be roped in by the night life. You be Virgin Mary? *rme* But seriously, I need you to roll with me tonight!! It just does not seem right for me to do all the waka alone. Hehehe. Infact, I will buy you a drink. What's your poison?

So I am at Swebar right now and the DJ is killing it!!! VGBG mode fully turned on! And if you do not know the meaning of that, you are once again on a very long thing! Kai!! Ask BankyW.
Speaking of BankyW, dude is a philanthropist of international standards. Hahaha. He gave away free tickets to the "Music Meets Runway" #MMR event holding tomorrow to lucky tweeters. Last time, he treated 50 fans in port harcourt to a movie complete with a drink and the popcorns to complete the show.
Abeg Banky, I don't know if you will read this but I need philanthropy in my life right now. I want to spend a weekend at The Radisson Blu hotel. Me and my friends. Just a weekend. Friday to sunday. You will get a hug each in appreciation. Thank you!!!
*Yes, you can carry the request to him on my behalf!*

Back to basics, my friend Vixen is going cray-cray here oh!!! Between she and Ivy, I don't know who is madder. Remember Ivy? My supposed best friend that just remembered me this weekend (well to be fair, she's been out of the country. Hehe). Vixen is scouting for a dude to give a lap dance. Any random dude. Cheiii!!!! I am in trouble tonight oh. I knew that extra bottle of Rosé was not wise immediately after the first! Ivy has been playing the flirting game with the cute dudes here. Making eye contact, stroking her wine glass, winking and whatever else she's doing. Very soon these two girls go cause commotion. I think it is time we moved on. Maybe we should head to Likwid or Deuces... Oga Banky promised to be there!
I just might make the request in person and invite you along for the GIRLS' WEEKEND. But you have to be good and that means "Get your butt out of the house!! Your eyes off the screen!! And your butt on the dancefloor!!! Drop it like it's HOT!!! Whoohooo!!!
